I think that he's top 5 in the league, even if the numbers don't say so, he had a pretty dirtty team in front of him last season. The last 3 years of his contract needs to look like a good deal, but right now it looks about right.
What I'm not understanding is how players are getting UFA money during their RFA years? I believe Carey's deal is 3 years RFA and 3 years UFA, so even if he got $7mil/year for his UFA years he shouldn't have gotten more than $4mil in his RFA years imo, that adds up to 35mil or 6 years.

Chris All the pessimexperts are calling for a 8th place team, I disagree, I think we have the best young power forward in the league in Pacioretty, I think our D if Markov stays healthy is much better than we've had in awhile and I think our toughness and grit and youth is the best we've had in a long time. Add to that the hunger after finishing 15th and our captain coming back healthy and I think we're pushing for top 4 conference. |
